One sentence a day.

Finally finished the chapter I've been putting off for weeks — sat by the window with cold coffee and it all just came out.

Simple layers.
Surprising depth.

One Line works across three rhythms — daily, weekly, monthly — and assembles them into something you'll want to read for the rest of your life.

01
Daily
Write one sentence about your day. No pressure, no prompts. Just one honest line.
02
Weekly
Once a week, reflect in 3–5 sentences. Your daily entries appear above for context.
03
Monthly
Write a monthly summary. This becomes a full chapter in your book.
04
Book View
Watch your year assemble itself — months as chapters, weeks and days beneath them.
05
Export
At year's end, export your complete book as Markdown, PDF, or DOCX.

Everything you need.
Nothing you don't.

Highlights
Mark the moments that matter most. Highlights surface in your book view so the best of your year is never buried.
Tags
Thread themes across your year. Tag entries to find patterns you didn't know were there.
Gentle reminders
A quiet nudge when you haven't written. Never pushy, always respectful of your time.
Distraction-free writing
A clean, calm interface designed for focus. No feeds, no notifications, no noise.
Timeline navigation
Move freely through your year. Jump to any day, week, or month in seconds.
Three export formats
Export your book as Markdown for flexibility, PDF for beauty, or DOCX for editing. Your year, your format.

Your journal belongs
to you.

One Line was built on a simple belief: what you write in a private journal should stay private. No compromises.

Local-first
Everything stays on your device. Nothing is sent to any server, ever.
No accounts
You don't sign up. You don't log in. You just write.
No analytics
We don't track how you use the app. Your habits are your own.
Face ID lock
Protect your journal with Face ID or passcode. Auto-locks when you leave.

Common questions

Is my data really private?
+
Yes, completely. One Line has no cloud backend, no servers, and no accounts. Everything you write is stored locally on your device and never transmitted anywhere. We have no ability to read your journal — even if we wanted to.
What if I miss a day?
+
Nothing happens. You can go back and fill in any day you missed at any time. One Line is designed to be forgiving — life happens, and a missed day isn't a failed habit.
How do I back up my journal?
+
You can export your full year at any time from the Book View as Markdown, PDF, or DOCX. We recommend exporting regularly and saving a copy somewhere safe — like your personal iCloud Drive, an external drive, or your computer.
How do I export my book?
+
Open Book View, tap the Export button, and choose your format. Your entire year — daily entries, weekly reflections, and monthly chapters — exports as a single, beautifully structured file.
Will my entries carry over to next year?
+
One Line is designed around one year at a time. Export your 2026 book at year's end, then start fresh for 2027. Your past books live in your exports — organized, beautiful, and permanent.
Can I use One Line on multiple devices?
+
Because One Line is local-first with no cloud backend, entries don't sync automatically between devices. Your journal lives on the device you write on. Exporting regularly is the best way to keep a backup.
